The temperature difference between day and night is gradually expanding to about 15 degrees Celsius. The daytime temperature reaches up to 15 degrees Celsius, and it dramatically drops to 0 degrees Celsius at night.
The Everest Base Camp is still in the spring, and the precipitation increases more. It's mostly cloudy or sunny, which makes it a good time to climb Mount Everest. Since the altitude is high, the temperature is kind of low all year round. The air becomes moister when it rains more in the spring. But the evaporation is fast and it still feels sort of dry. The ultraviolet radiation is also strong on the high-altitude areas. However, the temperature has warmed up in May, and only the wind still feels strong.

The Everest Base Camp is located in the Himalayas- the Roof of the World. It's in Tingri County, Shigatse, Tibet, with an average elevation of about 5,000 meters. It is of a plateau mountain climate characterized by “high terrain” and “cold temperature”.

Travel Notes on Visiting Mt. Everest in May:

It's getting warmer, there is no snow or dark ice on the road surface. The road is mostly in sandstone ground. It feels pleasant during the day, but the wind is still strong and rough with dust and sand sometimes. While the temperature at night is still quite low and it takes long for the heating equipment to work properly.

What to wear if visit Everest in May:

Daytime average temperature: Above 10°C - 15°C, warm clothes such as outdoor jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, winter coats, warm underneath shirts and pants, etc. are recommended.

Nighttime average temperature: 0°C, winter clothes such as winter coats, leather jackets, windproof jackets, down jackets, scarves, hats, gloves, sunglasses, masks, etc. are recommended.
