Luggage Allowance on The Train to Tibet

The train stipulates that the weight and volume of the luggage that everyone carried for free are:

Children (including free for children) 10 kg, diplomats 35 kg, other passengers 20 kg. The outer dimensions of each item shall not exceed 160 cm in length, width and height, and the rod-shaped items shall not exceed 200 cm, but the trains in the EMU shall not exceed 130 cm; the weight shall not exceed 20 kg.

Folding wheelchairs for disabled travel are free to carry and do not count towards the above range.

Prohibited items:

Announcement on prohibiting and restricting the carrying of goods by the railway station

The prohibition and restrictions on carrying goods on the railway station are announced as follows:

(1)Do not carry the following guns and bullets (including main components): Pistols, rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, riot guns and other military guns, as well as various types of bullets (including empty bombs, combat bombs, inspection bombs, coaches); air guns, shotguns, sports guns, anesthesia injection guns and other civilian guns and Classes with bullets; prop guns, simulation guns, starting guns, steel ball guns, fire extinguishers, and other guns; samples and imitations of the above items.

Military personnel, armed police, public security personnel, militia, shooting athletes and other personnel carrying guns and bullets shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State's laws and regulations, and strict regulations on the management of firearms and other related firearms shall be strictly enforced.

(2) Do not bring the following explosive items:

Hydrogen, methane, ethane, butane, natural gas, ethylene, propylene, acetylene (dissolved in medium), carbon monoxide, liquefied petroleum gas, freon, oxygen (except for bag oxygen for patients), water gas and other compressed and liquefied gases;Flammable liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, benzene, ethanol (alcohol), acetone, ether, paint, thinner, turpentine and products containing flammable solvents;Red phosphorus, flash powder, solid alcohol, celluloid, foaming agent H and other flammable solid;Yellow phosphorus, white phosphorus, nitrified fiber (including film), oiled paper and its products, etc.Flammable materials such as potassium, sodium, lithium, calcium carbide (calcium carbide), magnesium and aluminum powder;Potassium permanganate, potassium chlorate, sodium peroxide, potassium peroxide, lead peroxide, peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other oxidants and organic peroxides.

(5) Do not carry the following highly toxic, corrosive, radioactive, infectious, or dangerous items.

Cyanide, arsenic, selenium powder, phenol and other highly toxic chemicals and highly toxic pesticides such as tetramine (including rodenticide and insecticide). Sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, batteries (containing potassium hydroxide solid, acid or alkali solution injection), mercury (mercury) and other corrosive substances. Radioactive materials such as radioactive isotopes. Hepatitis b virus, anthrax bacillus, tuberculosis bacillus, HIV and other infectious disease pathogens. Dangerous goods other than those listed in the “List of Railway Dangerous Goods and Articles” which cannot be identified as potentially dangerous in nature.

(6) Do not carry the following items that endanger the safety or public health of the train: Strong magnets that may interfere with train signals, articles with strong irritating odor, articles with foul odor, live animals (except guide dogs), articles that may interfere with public health, and articles that can damage or pollute station, train service facilities, equipment and spare parts.

(7) Carry the following items in a limited quantity: nail polish, polish remover and hair dye do not exceed 20ml. Do not exceed 120 ml of cold perm, mousse, hair gel, insecticide, air freshener and other self-injection pressure vessels. 2 small boxes of safety match and two regular lighters.

(8) Other articles prohibited or restricted to be carried by passengers shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of the laws, administrative rules and regulations of the state.

(9) Carrying the above-mentioned items in violation of regulations shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of national laws and regulations.

Related regulations on checking luggage:

Luggage means bedding, clothes, books for personal use, and wheelchair for the disabled and other necessities for travel. Passengers with valid tickets, each piece of luggage can be checked once, and the wheelchair for the disabled is unlimited.

The maximum weight of each piece of luggage is 50 kg. The volume shall be limited to suitable for loading into the luggage cart, but not less than 0.01 cubic meters. For articles limited in transport by the state, please provide the transport certificate issued by the competent authority when handling the consignment. Valuables such as money, securities, precious cultural relics, gold, silver and jewelry, archival materials, as well as articles prohibited or restricted for transport by the state and dangerous articles shall not be carried in the luggage.
