Tingri County is subordinate to Shigatse city, located in the southwest border of Tibet autonomous region, is the only way to Mt. Everest. Due to its topography and unique climate, it presents the most spectacular extreme mountain landscape in the world. There are four peaks with height of more than 8,000 meters, namely Everest, Lhotse, Chooyu and Makalu.

In addition, there are also two major forest scenic spots within the territory - Rongxia scenic spot and Gama scenic spot. The special landform types and diverse climatic features have cultivated rich wildlife populations, which have great research and utilization value and tourism development potential.

Compared with Mt. Everest, accommodation in Tingri is much better. The 3-star hotel have Qomolangma Shang Hai Hotel and Tingri Bebar Hotel. The former was opened in 2000, and renovated in 2016, providing free parking lot, free WIFI, hot water, electric blanket, LCD TV, electric kettle and so on. On low season the price is about RMB 200-300 /night, and peak season will increase to about RMB100 /night basis on low season’s price. The latter is a new hotel that opened in 2018. The facilities are very new and complete, and the evaluation is very good. The price is about RMB 50-100 more than the former. Beside to these star class hotels, there are still has more than 10 guesthouses and hotels that can be choosen inside county town, differ according to establishment, service, the price difference is from RMB 100-500 yuan. From Tingri County to Mt. Everest is still about 110 kilometers, which takes about 2 hours by car, if you mind, consider carefully.
