Gyangtse means "the peak of victory, the top of the palace of the king" in Tibetan, located in the center of the county town of Mt. Dzong. It is not only a historical witness of the brave resistance of the people of Gyangtse against the British invaders, but also the only intact architectural site of the old Tibetan Dzong government. Gyantse is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China, as well as a new tourist town.

There are several 3-star hotels in Gyangtse County, such as Gyangtse Hotel and Gyangtse Jiangyuan Hotel. The former is a relatively old hotel, the evaluation is not particularly good; and the latter is a new hotel opened in 2018, which is very new in decoration, facilities and so on, and provides dispersive oxygen supply. The price of these hotels is about RMB 400-500 /night during the peak season, and it is about RMB 300 /night during the low season.
