Tibet Museum
To the opposite of Norbulingka stands the Tibet Museum. The Tibet Museum is the official museum of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China in Lhasa. Inaugurated on October 5, 1999, it is the first large, modern museum in the Tibet Autonomous Region. It has a collection of more than 520,000 artifacts, including pottery, jade, and Buddha statues, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. It has a collection of around 1,000 artifacts permanently on display related to the cultural history of Tibet, from examples of Tibetan art to architectural design throughout history such as Tibetan doors and beams.
Before visiting other attractions in Tibet, perhaps you could visit the museum first, so that you can a holistic understanding of the place.

Opening hours:
Summer and Autumn (5.1-10.31): 9:30-17:30 (Last admission is at 17:00),
Winter and spring (11.1-4.30): 10:00-17:00 (Last admission is at 16:30),
It is closed on Mondays.
Arrival: Take bus No. 2, No. 14 and get off at the Norbulingka South Station.
