How to Get Tibet Visa for Australians?  

Many people always ask how to get Tibet Visa for Australia? Australians need visa for Tibet.
 
Step 1: Apply for Chinese visa. Visa Applicants submits the relevant documents to Chinese Visa Application Service Center located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide according to the services areas. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Australia do not accept visa applications directly submitted by ordinary passport holders.
 
Australians who intend to go to China as tourists need L visa(visa category). Tibet visa requirements as follows:
1. Valid passport with above six months expiration and at least one blank visa page
2. Recent color passport photo (full face, front view, bareheaded and against  a plain light colored background)
3. Non-Australian applicant should have legal status in Australia and a copy of current status proof, such as VEVO, ImmiCard or visa should be submitted.
4. When applying for Chinese visa with a new passport, applicant who used to be of Chinese citizenship should submit the original and a copy of data page of the last Chinese passport, or a copy of previous Chinese visa on the previous foreign passport. If the name on the current passport differs from that on the previous passport, an official document of name change should also be submitted.
5. Round-trip ticket and hotel reservations or Invitation Letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China. 

How long for processing Chinese Visa?
It usually takes four working days. If emergency, two to three working days are possible but needs the special approval by the consular officer.
　　
Step 2: After getting Chinese Visa, Australian citizens should apply for Tibet travel permit (TTP) at least one month before entry into Tibet. In order to get Tibet Travel Permit for Austrilian citizens, the tourists need to provide the copy of Australian passport, scan of Chinese visa, contact information, transportation of departure city in China/Worldwide, itinerary to Tibet local travel agency such as Asia Odyssey Travel.
